History of the College

The establishment of the ERCC College of Health Technology, Alushi was in 1964 by the Sudan United Missionaries (SUM), which had gone a long way to better the lives of people in the then lower Plateau State, now Nasarawa State has increased the health manpower in the state, being the only health Institution in Existence.

The training of the Students started as medical Auxiliaries, which was producing Rural Health Assistants and later changed to a Community health Based Training Institution.

The school was first affiliated to ABU Medical Auxiliary training School Kaduna and Later with the CHT Zawan Jos Plateau State in 1982.

The College of Health Technology Alushi aims at providing medical training to society unreached by the government, thereby making health services accessible to the grassroots and also strengthens and increases the medical manpower. The Nigerian Society is highly dynamic; hence the needs and problems are constantly changing as more people know about their health.

The College does not see the task which it has set forth as being easy, neither is the definition of the problem nor the execution of the solutions. Though recognition of the pivotal roles of the individuals and its belief in the abundance of the able Nigerians is warmly welcome and it holds Nigerians and others to share its Philosophy to those who are willing to devote themselves to solving these problems.

The Motto of the College is “God First” which goes a long way in seeing the college through.
